Best paper award in the AWS annual meeting

Upcoming Presentation at OncLive Global Expo – October 2019

Join me on Sunday October 13 in Orlando, Florida where I will be presenting “Evidence-Based Strategies for Curbing Perioperative Opioid Prescribing”. I will discuss our experience treating pain after surgery using multimodal analgesia and regional block techniques to eliminate the need for the postoperative narcotic prescription. Spoiler alert: patients in the Maimonides Enhanced Recovery After Surgery Protocol reported improved pain postoperatively and did not require postoperative narcotics!

Rudolph Nissen Research Award

My advice to other young surgeons is to start your career where your team supports you as a clinician AND investigator. It was such an honor to receive the Rudolph Nissen Research Award. Thanks to Dr Patrick Borgen and the Maimonides Breast Team at Maimonides Medical Center for supporting our work promoting opioid-sparing pain initiatives, sexual health aftercancer, and decreasing time to the OR for breast cancer patients!
