Real Talk About Sex and Body Image

This is a recording of Rethink Real Talk: Sex & Body Image panel, a special episode of Rethink’s virtual live Q&A series, Ask An Expert, that helps you get straight to the source.*

This is an opportunity to get answers to some of the burning questions you and other young women in the community might have. Our goal is to help you feel more empowered during this time of uncertainty.

A breast cancer diagnosis comes with physical and emotional changes that can leave you with a complicated relationship with your body and feelings of loss when it comes to your sexual identity. The problem is that the topics of sex and body image often take a back seat when cancer enters the conversation. Not to mention that sex is a taboo topic that many of us feel uncomfortable talking about. ⁣Let’s change that. ⁣

Our hope is to give young people who have received a cancer diagnosis and their partners a safe and supportive space to talk about this often neglected topic. We’ve curated a panel of diverse perspectives to help spark an important conversation that challenges the current paradigms of what life looks like beyond cancer. Our amazing panelists are Jalila Jones, Dr. Kristin Rojas, Christina Zajicek and Keira Kotler. Let’s talk about sex – no holds barred. The views and opinions expressed by our experts do not necessarily reflect the position of Rethink Breast Cancer.
